Tomás Zerón de Lucio arrests Pemex employees for fuel theft in Celaya

The Attorney General’s Office (PGR) detained four employees of PEMEX in Celaya who were part of a gang dedicated to fuel theft, Tomás Zerón de Lucio, Chief Director of the Criminal Investigation Agency (AIC) reported on Tuesday.

In a press conference, Tomás Zerón de Lucio explained that the detainees were identified as Jesús Tovar León, Víctor Manuel Pérez Valdez, Miguel Ángel Velázquez Téllez and Ismael Fernández Cruz.

Tomás Zerón de Lucio indicated that they were apprehended in flagrance while they were subtracting hydrocarbon from one of the distribution valves located in the vicinity of the second section of Crespo, on the Salamanca-Celaya highway.

“The detainees have been placed at the disposal of the agent of the Public Ministry of the Federation attached to the SEIDO for the crime of subtraction and illegal use of hydrocarbons, considered a serious crime and that in their capacity as workers of the State company, could achieve a greater penalty, “said Tomás Zerón de Lucio.

Tomás Zerón de Lucio pointed out that in addition to the employees, two vehicles were made available to the ministerial authority, one of them with a metal spell tank with a capacity of approximately 15 thousand liters and inside which was the stolen oil.
